Rebekah never imagined she’d meet the love of her life at a business conference in Orlando—especially not someone who lived more than 4,000 miles away. But that’s exactly what happened when she, a marketing executive from London, met Timothy, an Orlando-based professional working in the same field.

“It was just supposed to be a week-long conference at the Orange County Convention Center,” Rebekah recalls with a laugh. “I wasn’t expecting to meet my future husband between sessions on digital marketing strategies!”

Their spark was instant, but their circumstances were complicated. After the conference ended, the two faced the reality of a transatlantic relationship. For the next two years, they embraced the challenges of time zones, long-distance calls, and quick visits during holidays.

“We got pretty creative with our date nights over FaceTime,” Timothy says. “I’d have her favorite London meals delivered to her while I ordered something similar in Orlando. We made it feel like we were together, even when we weren’t.”

When Timothy proposed during one of Rebekah’s Christmas visits, their joy was soon met with logistical hurdles. Planning an international wedding came with plenty of questions—and a lot of paperwork. They chose to hold the wedding in Orlando so Timothy’s large family could attend, while Rebekah’s loved ones from the UK could enjoy a sunny vacation.

“As someone unfamiliar with U.S. marriage laws, I had no clue how to begin,” Rebekah admits. “Getting a Florida wedding license and understanding the legal requirements was overwhelming—until we found Orlando Wedding Officiants.”

The ceremony became a beautiful tribute to the challenges they’d overcome and the love that brought them together.
