Rebekah never imagined she’d meet the love of her life at a business conference in Orlando—especially not someone who lived more than 4,000 miles away. But that’s exactly what happened when she, a marketing executive from London, met Timothy, an Orlando-based professional working in the same field.
“It was just supposed to be a week-long conference at the Orange County Convention Center,” Rebekah recalls with a laugh. “I wasn’t expecting to meet my future husband between sessions on digital marketing strategies!”
Their spark was instant, but their circumstances were complicated. After the conference ended, the two faced the reality of a transatlantic relationship. For the next two years, they embraced the challenges of time zones, long-distance calls, and quick visits during holidays.
“We got pretty creative with our date nights over FaceTime,” Timothy says. “I’d have her favorite London meals delivered to her while I ordered something similar in Orlando. We made it feel like we were together, even when we weren’t.”
When Timothy proposed during one of Rebekah’s Christmas visits, their joy was soon met with logistical hurdles. Planning an international wedding came with plenty of questions—and a lot of paperwork. They chose to hold the wedding in Orlando so Timothy’s large family could attend, while Rebekah’s loved ones from the UK could enjoy a sunny vacation.
“As someone unfamiliar with U.S. marriage laws, I had no clue how to begin,” Rebekah admits. “Getting a Florida wedding license and understanding the legal requirements was overwhelming—until we found Orlando Wedding Officiants.”
From their first video call, Orlando Wedding Officiants became their trusted guide. “They were incredibly knowledgeable and reassuring,” Rebekah says. “They explained what documents I needed from the UK and walked us through each step.”
The officiant also helped them design a ceremony that celebrated their international journey and honored both cultures. Choosing Lake Nona as their venue, they enjoyed a setting with peaceful water views and a refined atmosphere.
“Our officiant suggested we blend American and British traditions,” Timothy explains. “We included a Celtic handfasting ceremony to recognize Rebekah’s Scottish roots, alongside classic American wedding elements. We even wrote vows that reflected our transatlantic love story, with help from Orlando Wedding Officiants.”
The ceremony became a beautiful tribute to the challenges they’d overcome and the love that brought them together. With friends and family from both sides of the ocean gathered, Rebekah and Timothy promised to continue facing the future hand in hand—just as they had navigated the miles between them.
“What made it unforgettable,” Rebekah says, “was how personal it felt. Our officiant really took the time to know us—our story, our struggles, our wins. Every word felt like it was written just for us.”
Our Client Satisfaction
After the wedding, Rebekah moved to Orlando to begin this exciting new chapter. Today, she and Timothy live in Windermere and have launched their own marketing consultancy, blending their shared passion and global perspectives.
“Our journey started at a conference in Orlando, so it felt right to begin our married life here too,” Timothy reflects. “Thanks to Orlando Wedding Officiants, our wedding day wasn’t just beautiful—it was us. They created a ceremony that truly honored our story of love across continents.”
